I love new month posts. It makes everything so much neater.
I told you I wouldn't get anything written this weekend. I'm sorry for that, but here is a quick update.
Friday was actually a pretty good day. I was in a really good mood, and all my classes went well. I got everything done, and packed up and headed home. Me and Troy were going to go to his brother's roommate's birthday party, but he got a headache so we just hung out at his house, which is always very nice. We didn't do very much, and I know everyone thinks we're so extremely boring, but really, when you only get to see each other on the weekends, doing nothing together is really all we want to do. It allows us to talk a lot, which is very grand. Friday was great. :]
Saturday. I spent the morning prom dress hunting with my two sisters. What an adventure. I guess I forgot just how exhausting it was, because wow. I was beat. I feel like we got a lot done, and she tried on a lot of different styles and colors. She just needs to pick one, and look at a couple of more places. It was weird shopping for her, because I feel like I just barely was doing that yesterday. It's crazy how fast time seems to be going lately. Courtney, being the gracious soul that she is, pointed out the fact that the next dress I'll be picking out, will be my wedding dress. Oh joy. Thanks for that. We will see. I may just end up the crazy cat lady. But even then, I think I will get myself a wedding dress, just for the soul reason of having one. :] My dad made us dinner that night, and went all out. (As I think about it now however, he didn't really cook anything. Other than the asparagus.) But it was still good. Random, we had chicken, asparagus, and he bought a shrimp cocktail. After eating with my family, I met up with Troy for a double date with one of his friends from SVU. We got to his friend's house, and Christian called me. He sounded panicked, and desperate in the text message before, so I answered. He needed me. Apparently the store was a madhouse all day, and they had run out of every sugar cookie and it was only seven o'clock. All of the bakers were out of town, minus Quinn who was on drugs from having her wisdom teeth pulled, so all he had was me. I hesitantly told Troy the dilemma, and we hurried to Smart Cookie. I felt so awful. We got to Hell and I started trying to get the sugars done as fast as I possibly could. They cooked for what seemed like ages, and when they were finally finished, we put them in the freezer to speed-cool so that I could frost like a crazy person. However, what happened? Oh yes, our freezer is a giant piece, and was busted. So it took them almost twenty minutes to cool down enough so that I could frost. I was shaking like crazy, and trying my hardest to hurry while Troy sat out in the front at the table. Every second I was there my guilt grew more and more. We were supposed to go to a foreign film at BYU that started at eight, and I didn't finish until like ten after. Luckily, Troy is great, and was really good about the whole thing, even though I felt like the worst date in the whole world, he just laughed. :] We made it to the movie only a half hour behind schedule (which really wasn't much, considering it was one of the longest movies I have ever seen.) But it was really good! It was definitely different. It was in French, with English subtitles. It was about this class, and this teacher. It was interesting, because there was no real plot. It was kind of a take-it-however-you-can-for-yourself movie. But I liked it. Foreign films are actually really cool. If you don't mind reading the whole thing.
Sunday I woke up and went to church with my dad and Courtney. My mom had been really sick all weekend, so I barely saw any of her, which is unfortunate. Hopefully she will start feeling better. Anyhow, so we went to church. It was pretty good. :] Troy slept in, again, and I know that is shocking but really, it happened. So he came late to our ward instead of going all the way back to Provo. Since my dad had to go to a Ward Conference, and his parents go to the other Sunday School class, the two of us were left in Gospel Doctrine alone. We sat next to each other, obviously, and well, you know that lovely little spotlight my Ward likes to shine down on me? It was definitely shining. Sam gets up before class starts, and is kind of talking to everyone, and just doing whatever. He then says "Now, there are some faces I don't think I know with us today." And looks right at me and Troy. Now, Sam knows who I am. His wife was in the YW with me, and he lives like four houses away. But he continues to have us introduce ourselves. I tell him who I am, and that I'm visiting from school, and Troy does the same. Of course Sam recognizes us, and then declares that he simply didn't recognize us together as a couple. If everyone in the class didn't already know, they do now. Apparently we were then talked about in every other meeting at church. We were quite the topic.
I finally made it to Sunday dinner at the Butterfield's this week too. It was really fun. :] It was just Troy and me, and his parents. We ate and then watched some T.V. and then we played Scrabble. :] It was so funny. Becky (Troy's mom) was making me laugh all night. She is great. :] I really enjoyed myself. I then went home, and slept. Yes, I didn't have to leave Sunday night. I decided to try the whole leaving Monday morning thing, so I arrived at school this morning. And I liked it a lot better. :] It was so much less stressful, and I got unpacked and everything really fast. It is a much better system than what I was doing before.
That was my weekend. Now, I'm just trying to survive until Spring Break.
I'm still breathing, so that's a good start.
