Back at school!

We love Logan. :] Let me just take you through this weekend. We moved up here on Tuesday, stayed with Troy's cousin for two days until we could move into our apartments on Thursday. Read Mockinjay, which was really great. :] (Don't worry, this isn't going to be a spoiler.) I really liked it a lot. Probably, my favorite book of the three. Maybe. We moved in on Thursday, and I love my apartment. Me and Parker have the back two bedrooms, and it's really great living with her. We each have our own bathrooms right in our bedrooms. Very nice. We have two other roommates, Dixie and Bonnie. We don't see that much of each other, because we all kinda have crazy schedules. Bonnie already graduated and she works all day. Dixie is a senior, and works. Parker works her nanny job from twelve to six, and I am doing school plus work. School is slow this semester. I'm only taking twelve credits, down from the eighteen I wanted to take. I thought about it, and with this job, plus wedding junk, I think I'm going to need the extra time taking less credits will give me. I have a family finance class mwf, on tues/thurs I have a humanities class (that is proving to be very interesting, our text is the bible....) a astronomy class, and then intro to deaf education. In two of my classes so far, there are interpreters in both. Very distracting. :] But it will be good for me I think. Besides, when the professors use a word I don't understand, I look at them, and see the simplified-signed version, and quickly understand. :] It's like my own pocket dictionary. Minus the nerd factor of actually having to carry a pocket dictionary. :]
Work is not quite a thrill. I sit and stare at a computer screen all day, calling and calling all the hours of the day. I did pretty good for my first day, I passed. So hopefully I will be getting paid around nine or ten dollars an hour. That would be a real big help. :] Other than that, nothing is really going on yet. Just trying to get back into the groove of things, and figure out how to survive this Logan weather. Went to class dry, came out of class, it was pouring. Guess who walked home soaked to the bone in a tee shirt and flip flops? Oh yeah, yours truly. I rocked that look.

In a couple of days I will be able to make my posts a lot more continuous. I know you are all just thrilled to pieces about that. :] Quick update on what you have missed in the last ten days.

I'm done at Smart Cookie! Forever! It's weird, but it is time to move on.
I got a new hair do. Life change, hair change. :]
We have still been trying to accomplish more and more things on our list. We did pretty good however. We hiked Ensign Peak just the other day and that was really fun. Then we ate at Five Guys. :] Completely undoing everything our hike did for us. Oh well.
A few Fridays ago, we met up with Kyle and Cortney (Troy's brother and his girlfriend) at the Cheesecake Factory ate dinner, then headed to Boondocks. It was a ton of fun! I had never been before, so I was opened up to a whole new world of entertainment! :] We raced Go-Karts, and played Laser Tag and Arcade games. I totally kicked Kyle's butt in our last go around of Kart races, and I was very proud of myself. :]
We have been doing our best to get a good chunk of wedding junk out of the way before we go to school, and I'm proud of our efforts.
We are dying to go up to school. We have had a good summer, working our butts off and squeezing in fun times, but we are ready to go to Logan. We only have a couple of days, and neither of us are packed, but hey, it will all come together the night before. :]
I'm very much looking forward to this next semester of school. Not only am I starting a new semester in a new place, but I am not doing it alone. It will be so nice to have Troy just up the road, and not have to drive home every weekend. It's going to be a time full of adventures, I can feel it. I'm hoping to not neglect the blog, and I promise to do my best to update whoever all of you are on what I am getting myself into. I'm sure the insight I will have on this whole engagement thing will be great, so stay tuned. Life has taken me in a direction I never could have imagined for myself, and I'm happy it has. I'm very lucky, and am so looking forward to what comes next. Moving on like I am has taught me so much about what I used to think I knew. I was (still am actually) a clueless pawn in this game of life. There are so many people who I wish were a part of my life now, and many I am glad are not. We are all working towards better lives for ourselves, and it is so fascinating to me where everyone will end up. Wherever I happen to land, I hope they have Dr. Pepper. Because we are doing the no soda thing again, and I'm dying for one. :/

Happy Birthday to Becky! :]

I know, this is the post you have all been waiting for. The (dun-dun-dun) proposal post! I am now going to tell you how Troy proposed and all that beautiful information. (For my records as well. :] )
Last Wednesday we were going to head up to Logan because Troy had SOAR on Thursday so we were going to spend the night there. I wasn't supposed to work at all both days, so it was going to be smooth sailing. However, the baker at AF was in a car accident, so I had to cover the baker in FU shift while she covered in AF. It turned out to be a long day at both stores. I finished at about four, but needed to go to AF to help her finish a HUGE order. I informed Troy and Parker of this, and they were both really upset, and wanted me to hurry. I was trying, but I didn't really see the big deal in me being a couple of hours late (now I do) but I still hurried as fast as I could. Once I finished we headed straight up, got something quick to eat, and then drove to Logan. We arrived at Parker's, and since I had come straight from nasty-sticky work, I showered and got dressed. I was looking forward to a night of chilling on the couch, watching a movie or something like we normally do, because I was beat. That is not what they had planned. As soon as Parker asked if I was ready for our bonfire, I kind of knew something was up. Parker and Troy don't plan. Let alone together. So, I was very suspicious and didn't quite know how to react. I was pleased, because it meant I didn't have to do very much thinking after my long day, but I knew something weird was going on. But I reluctantly went along with them. We got up the canyon, after a few disagreements on directions between Parker and Kris, and I was getting a little scared. It was dark, and super creepy. Plus, I was not told about this plan so I was in flip-flops and capri pants. Instant bug attraction. Not to mention, I had just showered so I was smelling particularly nice. Needless to say, I was a little bit of a pain to deal with as we sat around the fire. I had forgotten all about the suspicious activities of my dear loved ones, and was now worried about the suspicious nature-noises I was hearing, and what was crawling in between my toes. After sitting around the fire for a while, watching Kris blow his nose into his hand, Parker burn marshmallows, and the two of them fight like always (:]) They disappeared, and left me and Troy by ourselves. At first, this freaked me out. Suddenly there was only two of us, and I couldn't see behind us and neither could he. Plus, I had this fear that Parker and Kris were hiding somewhere and were going to jump out and make me scream. This was all going on while I was laying against Troy fighting off the urge to fall asleep, because let's remember folks, I had just worked a very full day on very little sleep. Next thing I know, Troy is in front of me kneeling on the ground. He was proposing and I was almost asleep. It was so fitting. :] I of course woke up very quickly, and said yes to what he was asking. (Which was, Will you marry me?) It was all great. :] I remember him telling me I had to look at the ring before I answered, which seemed very stupid to me. But I did, and I love it. :] It was too big though (that was how Troy told me he thinks I have fat hands. ;] ) and we are in the process of getting it shrunk down to my size, and I will get it back in a couple of days. :]
That is our story. Here are the details: Troy proposed to me on his one year anniversary of being home from his Mission; August 4, 2010. It wasn't completely a surprise, but I didn't know exactly what was going on. :] He picked out the ring all by himself, and I love it. :] He got me a seven, but I need a six. It has a Cathedral set diamond (I think that is what he called it...) in the middle, with v-looking engravings followed by three small round diamonds on both sides of the bands. I have already almost lost it twice, and that scares the crap out of me. I refuse to ever know how much he spent on it. He got it at JP Lee. It came in a green velvet box. I think that will answer all of the questions, and give me enough to remember when I lose everything I'm supposed to remember when I'm old. :]
