Dec 23 2010

So, this is how our weekend at home went...

We spent Friday hanging around, doing a lot of nothing. :] We went shopping, and just enjoyed being together. Friday evening I went to dinner with all of my aunts and girl cousins that could be there, for a different kind of bridal shower. We went to Archibalds at Gardner Village. It was really fun! We all love going there for....
fried green tomatoes!!! They were so delicious. (Sorry the picture is giant. But, it is a metaphorical representation of their deliciousness.) I also got my very own magic Santa key and a new Nativity scene for my collection. That brings the count up to 13. :] It was really fun and I really enjoyed being there. Troy's mom came along too and that was nice. :] Hopefully we didn't overwhelm her. Saturday was a crazy day! We went to Troy's great friend's wedding. It was all the way in Manti so we woke up bright and early (8:00 being early mind you) and headed out into the snow. Luckily the roads were not bad, and we made it there on time in one piece. It was so fun getting to see them! It made us both so excited, and ever since then we have just been dying to have our turn. I'm jealous that Troy got to watch the actual sealing, but in due time. :] I'm so excited! It's coming so quickly. After the wedding we went to a splendid luncheon, complete with the greatest piece of chicken I probably could have ever consumed. And, I can't even tell you what was on it, because we are not entirely sure! But it was good. Hats off to the Manti House. Paula Dean is certifiably crazy. In my recent obsession/addiction to the Food Network I have a really hard time changing the channel. And Paula my dear friends, is insane. I just wish I could try her food, to see if the crazy is worth it. I do want her red pan set at Wal-Mart however. So, I guess dear Paula is good for something.
After the wedding we went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas concert. Troy's parents had extra tickets, and knowing the history behind the show, offered them to us. (This is the part of the weekend where we re-enact our first date....sort of.) We got there early and walked around Temple Square. It was really pretty, even though we didn't spend too much time looking at the lights, we just walked through. (This is in accordance with Dec. 12, 2009's activities.) We headed over to the Conference Center, and jumped into the massive line of people. The line went clear up one side of the CC and around the corner! Luckily it moved very quickly, but it was quite the hike in my high heels. (Keep these shoes in mind for later...) We met up with his parents, and they graciously gave us the really good tickets, down where all the General Authorities sit. It was so neat! We were very close to the front, and were able to see thing neither of us had before. Thanks Craig and Becky! David A. did a great job, and I really enjoyed the show. After, we decided to go to dinner. BACK-STORY: We parked right by Little America. Hopped on Trax, and rode to Temple Square. We were planning on going to dinner at Tucci's, which was in Trolley Square. (We went to Macaroni Grill last year, but neither of us wanted to. We really should have.) Anyway, so after the show we headed out to Trax, to ride to the car. However, we had not fully researched the path we needed to take. Troy knew that Tucci's was in Trolley Square. And we knew there was a separate Trax train that would take us to Trolley Square. The dilemma we had was whether we were going to drive or ride to the restaurant. Before we could decide, we needed to get to the station. Troy, bless his heart, led us the long way. He was right in where he was going, it just was the really long way around. We finally realized how far out of the way we walked, and I opted to just go to the car. We had already walked more than half way, and I figured I could make the rest of the way. However we decided to go to the station instead. We had just missed the one that would take us to our car, so we made a quick decision to take the train to Trolley Square. Pretty sketchy decision on our part, since at this point my feet (recall the shoes...) were screaming at me now. We got off the train, and much to our despair, realized the restaurant was about 3 blocks from where we were standing. I was done. So, we got back on the trains, switched a whole bunch of times. Shed some tears outside the ten o'clock news (I was doing this) and ended up back at our car. I was exhausted and starving. Troy felt bad, and was as equally hungry. All in all, we ended up at Crown Burger, five minutes to close, and enjoyed greasy hamburgers in the car.
Regardless of the obstacles we faced, I saw some great parts of SLC I had never before (as well as some sketchy) and spent the night with Troy. Happy date re-enactment. :]
Note: Don't let our story prohibit you from re-enacting dates you have had. I'm hoping this was just our bad luck affecting our plans as it often does.

Woo!

I get to go home. :] Me and Troy. I'm so excited, I just needed to blog about it!
Look for these exciting future posts:
-Gingerbread houses (next week)
-The re-enactment of our first date!
-Derek's wedding (Troy's best friend)
-Christmas time!
and best of all, I have officially created mine and Troy's old married couples blog. The URL is:
troyney.blogspot.com
since I'm unaware of when my next posts will be in here, I figured I would make that announcement now, since as of December 30, this blog will no longer be posted in. :]
I must tell you. I'm at work now, and it is slow. This old man and little boy just came into the coffee shop. This is no ordinary young child. He is so talkative and intelligent! He was making me laugh so hard. He is probably four or five. He specifically asked for an Espresso Brownie. (Didn't get it of course, because that would be a horrid idea for a small child.) He then told his grandfather he did not want a steamer, but some "delicious chocolate Hot Cocoa." Then he saw these caramels (pronounced by him as "care-a-mells" the correct way I guess.) Anthony, the barista, told him to try the Salt flavored. He got the most serious look on his face, furrowed his miniature brown put his hands out in front of them and said "Oh no. I dislike salt." In the end, he choose the salt caramel and enjoyed the whipped cream on his hot chocolate by the spoonful. Good to know that even the most intelligent and serious of children, are still children. :]

One year ago...

"Saturday was the day of excitement since I have been home. I woke up bright and early, and got to Smart Cookie at about five, and spent the next ten hours baking my butt off, all by myself. I was going so fast, so that I could be out of there for my date. I don't think I stopped doing something once. It was an exhausting feat. But all boring baking details aside, I made it out alive, and on time. I got home, got ready for my date, and was so exhausted, but still excited. It was a really fun date! I had lots of fun getting to know Troy, and we walked around Temple Square, and then went to the Christmas Program that MOTAB does every year. It was really good. :] I liked going, because I haven't been in so long, and I kind of missed them. Natalie Cole was there as well, and wow. She is kind of a diva. She had her own blinged out microphone, and conductress. But it was still amazing. :] We ate at Macaroni Grill after, and walked back to the car. I really did have a good time, and maybe we will get to hang out again. We will see. :]"

Happy one year anniversary Troy!! :]

I cannot believe it has really been an entire year that we have been dating. It definitely doesn't feel like that long. We have had some great times, and I'm so happy that I get to have a million more years with him. The best part about having a year, is that now there isn't one calendar day of the year I haven't known him. If that hasn't scared me away yet, nothing can.

I love you. :]

Dec 6 2010

Haven't been on a while.

This is my update of the past little while.
I pretty much haven't done anything very exciting. I did quit the beloved call center! Woo! So I'm all done asking people questions for 15 hours a week! At first I was very wary of quitting, because I know the extra money will be helpful in the long run. But I'm so glad that I have. I have a lot more time to do things now, and life isn't quite so hectic. I am really enjoying working at the Crepery, and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. My bosses are really cool, and I love the environment. In fact, I'm here now. :] It is such a cool job, and I get a lot of time to do homework and study.
It hasn't been very fun lately however. Me and Troy are both stuck up here for like 99% of the Christmas Break, and it is really quite a bummer. But I'm learning to accept it, so hopefully we will just be able to make the best of it and move on.
We both have a lot to do for finals week/end of the semester. It's a little bit stressful, but I'm hoping we will both be okay. I'm done in two classes, so I only have two more to worry about. It should all go pretty well. Hopefully. I'm assuming our grades won't be the greatest, but I know they won't be awful because we both have been working pretty hard.
Boring post, but that is really all we have been up to. :/

Nov 28 2010

The Thanksgiving Post! (The first picture is on on my birthday though. :] )

Our delicious breakfast casserole. Our first new tradition for every Thanksgiving. :]

We made two pumpkin pies this year. One the regular way, and one with half Apple Beer and regular milk instead of the evaporated. The Apple Beer one turned out to be our favorite! :]

Since Troy had to work this Thanksgiving, and we didn't go home I set up this dinner for us to surprise him when he got home. I went through a lot of hard work to get that table set up! :]
I even made name tags for us, just in case we forgot who we were. :]
(You can't tell, but my salad is really pretty.)

This was my Turkey wings! They were beautifully cooked. Really. I was shocked. :] I used all sorts of lovely spices, and I think all my hours of the Food Network is getting to me....

The final set up. Lit candles and everything. It was so much fun. :] We really enjoyed being together. (Notice: our table is in fact Logan and Troy's bedroom desks. Good thing I'm a muscle woman and carried them out in to the front room for a real table!)

Yay! Troy came home from work and I was EXHAUSTED.

This is Troy's Thanksgiving dinner. He ate a ton! :]

Another new tradition we started. We wanted something sweet while we were watching Lost so we made Muddy Buddies! They were delicious. :]

This whole Thanksgiving was hard at first, I didn't like being away from home and Troy's roommate (that I don't get along with too well, and kinda does nothing all day) was looking like he was going to crash my romantic surprise. But the Bishop came and brought him to his Thanksgiving, so we were able to celebrate by ourselves. I was glad, because I didn't want to spend my whole day away from family with someone who I had trouble getting along with. In the end, everything worked out. Even my cooking. :] I was very proud. Lately, I have been quite the chef. So I had faith I could pull it off.
We got so much snow this Thanksgiving Break too! The great "Blizzard" seemed to only bring snow to us up north, and it was actually pretty scary. They sent us home from work early, and a bunch of places were closed. Everything was basically ice, and driving still isn't that great. We are surviving though, and counting down the days until this semester is over!! :] Happy Holidays.

Nov 17 2010

I have gotten lazy. :/
This past weekend we went home so I could attend a couple of bridal showers that were going on. It was a lot of fun! I loved it. :] It was a great time to see everyone and get to catch up. We were lucky enough to have Lindsay and baby Eli! It was so good to see them, and I'm super glad she was able to come and do wedding stuff with me. :] Look how cute. :]

We have started the crazy work life. I'm working two jobs, which has me working every day. Sometimes, if I'm real lucky, twice a day. :] It's a life I'm none too fond of, but I'm looking to the future and hoping that it will pay off. Quickly! :] Troy is also working two jobs, just not quite as intensely as I have been. But it will pick up, and four jobs between the two of us (five if you count the Statesman) is none too shabby, so I have nothing to complain about. We are hoping for a comfortable life. Ha. :] We are both trying hard to figure out what it is exactly we are going to do with our lives, and that is a problem. I'm hoping by after the summer we will have everything figured out, and will be good to go. We will see. :] We are open for suggestions, we are thinking of starting a contest. "Find careers for Whit and Troy. Prize for the winner." Consider your suggestions carefully, your'e deciding our lives.
I have hit the wall on school things. I want to be done. I just want it to be over! I'm trying to push through for these last few weeks however. Pray for me. And my grades. :]
We went and saw Morning Glory and I am highly recommending it. Very good. Very funny. See it! :]

Nov 11 2010

This week has been slow.

But I did get to do a really cool thing on Tuesday! My Intro to Deaf Education class had a trip planned up to Gooding, Idaho to visit the School for the Deaf and Blind there. We left early early Tuesday morning and drove up there. (3 hours driving mind you, not fun.) It was the coolest experience though! This is a residential school, unlike the one in Salt Lake, where the kids stay at the school and go home on the weekends. It is the coolest thing. It was interesting for me to actually be there and to see that, because in class I know that that type of school is so much better. However, it made it real for me to see this little 3rd, 4th, 5th graders living on their own basically, away from home. They all loved it, but it was hard for me to see. But I still advocate going to a School for the Deaf as the best, especially if the parents don't sign. It was so fun though! Me and Emily, a girl who I have gotten to know really well up here, were a group so we wandered around the school together and visited the classrooms. At the school, they use the Sim Com or Total Communication method. This means that while they are signing ASL, they are speaking English. It was really really hard to get used to at first, and we didn't like it at all. But as we were there longer throughout the day, and got to know the kids better, we realized that it was necessary. A lot of the kids are hard of hearing, or have hearing aids/cochlear implants and their ASL skills are not very good, if they even have them. So the Total Communication is helpful because they are understanding, and getting that exposure to ASL that is needed. The coolest part was that our van driver, Curt Radford (who is a teacher up here, and went to that school when he was growing up) pretty much hooked me up. :] His roommate from the school in Texas is the principal at the New York School for the Deaf. We were talking about how I would love to go to New York, and he told me that if I wanted, I could have a job there tomorrow. It was exciting, and now I'm even more confused on what I want to do with my life. We will see how this all plays out however.

Nov 7 2010

My last post as a teenage girl.

Whoa. :]
I'm so ready to be twenty. It will be great. I will make sure to post tomorrow, after I feel so different and mature and great. Yeah...right.
This weekend was pretty chill. Friday I had to work, and that was really lame because I thought for sure I would get off early, but I didn't, and that made the last two hours drag on forever. But then it ended and all was well. Me and Troy just watched Lost and he made me dinner. Mind you, my dinner was great. What Troy made for himself...well, not so great. (Sidenote: this blog post will not have any pictures of food, because I have realized that in posts of late I may have been making others feel hungered. Seeing as it is fast Sunday, I will do what I can to not stir these feelings.) We had an interesting experience in the apartment however Friday night. Right as we were going to sleep, we heard this extremely loud bang from the kitchen/living room. One of my roommates was out there with a guy that was visiting from home. Hearing this loud noise, my first thought was to just ignore it and lay back down. But despite that, I got up and went to check it out. I heard yelling, and was a little concerned. Parker came out with me, and eventually knocked on Dixie's door to make sure she was okay. They were fighting or something, and apparently the guy had kicked her door in. We saw the evidence when we were leaving the next morning. Pretty scary I'm not going to lie. :/ But it turned out alright. Thank goodness.
Saturday we went down to Centerville for the Page Bridal Shower that Ranae held for me. It was really fun, and it was good to get to see everyone. After we went and picked out our cake flavors and seeing the cake lady. That was pretty fun. :] We headed back up to Logan and then went to Chilli's with a bunch of friends from here for my birthday. It was really fun. :] I loved it. It was cool to get to go out with everyone. After dinner we came back here and ate the cake that Troy made for me, and played a bunch of games. It was good. I got to see Tori, April and everyone. I love my birthday weekend. :] The best thing ever, is I know know the entire alphabet in Portuguese (for real this time, I memorized the whole thing) and I can count. All the way up to over one hundred. I'm very excited about that. I'm so proud, and Troy is too even if he won't tell me. :]

Nov 4 2010

So I have a new job.

Woo. I now work at a Crepery. Very exciting. We will see how this goes. :]
Plus we signed our lives away to the new contract. Yay apartments.
So we will see how this new life goes. It's beginning to kick off. That is crazy. I'm very excited. Hopefully we will survive this life. I think we will be fine. I think....
From cookies to crepes, who would have thought.

Nov 2 2010

So I turn twenty in six days!

Plus, we have an adorable new niece, Avery Ann.
I interviewed at a Crepery today so we will see how that goes, I might be having a new baking job!
Troy is now employed at the infamous KMart. Yay Troy!
I got an incredible grade on my recent Astronomy test. Yay me!
Apparently, I am the best almost-wife in the world. Yay me again!
We have an appointment to look at an apartment tonight, so maybe we will have somewhere to live.
We both sold our contracts, so that is good. We are getting so close!
Also, I made this tonight: (Taco Soup) and it was delicious. I'm the greatest chef.

Oct 27 2010

Happy Halloween!!! :]

Parker digging out the guts.

Troy cleaning his pumpkin out.

Parker filling Kris' pumpkin with guts, while he was trying to clean it out. :]

Yay! The new Jazz sign and a Jack-o-lantern pirate!

Parker's ghost, and Kris' adorable Pig.

Parker's became much more adorable than Kris' with the candles. :]

Mine and Troy's with lights. :]

Oct 21 2010

Happy one year to Cameron!

Happy Birthday to Kyle! (Yesterday. :/)
Yesterday I got to do the coolest thing ever!! For our Intro to Deaf Education class we have to take two trips to Deaf Schools. Yesterday we got to go the the Jean Massieu School (JMS) for the Deaf in West Valley. (Part of the new totally ridiculous Utah School for the Deaf and Blind. For those that don't realize the ridiculousness of this, look at the title for a while, and ponder what that truly means.) Anyway, we got to go. :] It was the greatest experience of my life. I was amazed at the intelligence and signing capability of these kids! What has taken me years to learn, and granted I am far from mastering the art, these kids just seem to know! It was amazing. We started with a tour of the whole school (which was basically just one long hallway they called Death Row.) It was so cool to see each classroom. There is nothing special about the decor, it seriously is just like every elementary classroom I ever attended in my life. However, the numbers are so few. There are only about 5-6 kids tops in each classroom. The desks are arranged in a small square, with the teacher on a chair in the middle. After our tour we broke off into small groups and went and observed each of the classrooms. My favorite and first class we visited was the fourth grade teacher. She was amazing with those kids. She used books, not to read, but to teach the kids real life concepts and signs. She had a way of using classifiers (which I never saw a point for before this moment I'll have you know) to get the kids to recognize the signs and concepts for themselves. She was amazing! I was so fascinated with the way she signed to those kids. There was a really problematic student and the way she handled him was amazing. She would get right down on his level, and not give up until he signed what she wanted him to, no matter how distracted he got. All at the same time of giving her attention to the other kids. After this, we went to the math class and watched the students learn math. This was also really cool, because the teacher incorporated hidden English and Reading into her math lessons to help the kids learn as well. It was cool, and she was my second favorite teacher. :] We got to go outside for a couple of minutes and watch the kids interact with one another during recess. It was really fun. We visited the Pre-K class, and they had us laughing so hard. These little three and four year olds were fascinated with us, and would sign full blown conversations with us. They knew more words than any other three or four year old I have ever met, and they were Deaf! It makes me even more mad at the statistics and facts that the hearing world labels these kids with. Why do they believe these Deaf kids are disabled? I spent an entire day with 70 or so of them, and never once did I notice a disability. They learn in a different language. They are not learning slower than the average hearing child. They are not learning less. The third graders I visited could speak 2 languages! They knew the correct English grammar and the correct ASL grammar. I know I couldn't do that when I was in third grade, and I was intelligent! This is not me saying I hate the hearing world, audiologists, oralists (kind of), or speech teachers. I hate the fact that everyone of those kids in that school is labeled as disabled in a hearing world where correctly functioning ears are a necessity. The only thing these kids can't do, is hear. And I don't believe that is going to stop them from doing anything they want. The only that will stop them is the people that can hear and can't understand. Now who is the less intelligent? If we can send someone to the moon, see Mars, build an iPhone and every other strange technology, why can't we believe that someone who can't hear can do anything we can? It's totally stupid. We believe in so much, why can't these kids be believed in too? It is really humbling to me. I value everything I have that much more now, because although I worked hard to get where I am, I know those kids will have to work ten times as hard to even get accepted to college. Let alone get the freedoms and scholarships I have in my college experiences. I am proud to say that I will get to teach these gifted individuals.

Oct 18 2010

Fall Break was great.

I was so ready to go home last week, I was dying! Troy was getting so sick of me counting down the days until we got to go home. But it finally came, and I was thrilled! We headed home Thursday afternoon, because neither of us had class so we just took our time, slept in, and then headed south. That night we went to dinner with Troy's roommate from last semester, Derek and his new fiance Tara. It was really fun, we went to the Mayan and ate and watched the divers. I had never met Tara, and we hadn't seen Derek all summer so it was good. After this little outing, the madness began. Our Fall Break turned into something like a wedding-planning extravaganza. Friday I spent the day with Melissa, running around picking up and looking at random things for decorations and the bridesmaid outfits. It was hectic, but it was fun to catch up with her and get to go to lunch with her. We got a lot done too. Friday night, me and Troy spent forever in Bed Bath and Beyond registering for stuff. It was crazy. It didn't go too bad, we were just so exhausted after. We went to his house and his dad made us a delicious omelet and we watched Letters to Juliet with Craig and Becky. Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to my final dress fitting. It was fun, Becky, my mom, Parker, and my grandparents came with to see the whole thing. I'm glad it's finished and I love it! After that we rushed home, picked up my little sisters and ran to Melissa's to have everyone measured for their bridesmaid dresses. Then we rushed off again to the bridal shower that the Butterfield side was throwing for me. It was really fun, I got to meet a whole bunch of the family on that side that I hadn't yet, and we got a lot of cool gifts. It was fun. :] I really enjoyed it. After the shower we took Parker to her grandma's and then met my family for bowling at Jack and Jill's. It was really fun, Troy beat all of us of course. Even my father. Ha. After bowling we went to Pizza Factory and all ate way too much food so we had a ton of leftovers. It was good and fun though. We stopped by Red Mango and got some delicious frozen yogurt that I have been missing so greatly while we have been in Logan. That was basically our Fall Break in a nutshell. Lots of wedding stuff, and not much relaxation. But it was still so good to get to spend time at home with both sides of the family. It all just ended way too soon!

Oct 7 2010

So, I have a crow problem.

Those great birds and nature noises I was such a fan of a few posts ago, now they have a friend. A lovely devil crow that refuses to leave me alone. It is the worst thing ever. He doesn't start his great song until about seven in the morning. And since I sleep with my window open, he sings right into me and wakes me up. Lately, I have finally been getting up and shutting my window. The dumb bird hates me. As soon as I shut the window, he shuts up. No joke, the bird knows. I tested this this morning. Closed the window, waited, didn't hear him singing. For about twenty minutes. That is too long for him to just be catching his breath. Open the window again, and there he goes. I think he watches me. It's a game to him now, and I'm constantly losing. This is no joke. I really have tested this, and it is backed by extensive research. I feel like Zooey Daschanel on Failure to Launch, when she has to kill the Mockingbird outside her window with the Air-soft gun.
Anyone have an air-soft gun I can borrow for the weekend?

Oct 3 2010

Yay I'm finally posting! This one has pictures of things we have been up to (and things we did FOREVER ago, but I figured visuals are always great!) We have been really busy lately, and it has been fun. We had a good week, with lots of school stuff going on. This Friday was the BYU/USU game, so all week we were really pumped for that. So pumped in fact, that we decided we needed the best seats in the house, so we camped out on Thursday to get them. :] It was cold and windy, and we didn't sleep at all, but it was really fun! It's all about the experience. So Friday we got special early seating for the game, and got to sit right up front on the fifty yard line! It was awesome, considering just how many people were there! It was nuts! And it was a really good game, because we won. :] There were a couple of slanderers around, and that wasn't great, but all in all, it was good clean fun. Here are pictures from the game. It was so hot we were dying!

These are from Zion's but, hey, they were just there. :]

Sept 29 2010

We had a busy weekend!

I had no time to post. :/ Sorry.
So this weekend we went home to see Troy's sister who was visiting from Colorado who I had not yet met. We all just hung around Friday night and chatted. It was pretty fun. :] Staci is super pregnant, she is due on my birthday! So that is fun. :] The first girl of the family.
Sidenote: we have have been watching Lost. I'm sitting by myself in the Hub, and I just saw a tall bald man walked by. I thought it was John Lock. No big deal. I can't stop thinking about Lost.
Anyway, Saturday morning I had a dress fitting so me and my mom went to that. That went well. It's going to be all done in a couple of weeks. Yay. :] We spent the rest of the day at a park with Troy's family and ate a picnic lunch and just played outside. It was fun to just relax and do nothing. Saturday was also homecoming for my sisters, so I spent a couple hours waiting around for them and then helping them get all ready. It was really fun. I did Courtney's hair and I must say, it looked really good. :] They all looked adorable and their dates were quite studly. They had a good time too, so that is important.
Westlake won their game, so now they are 6-0! That is really cool. I'm excited for them. I cheer for them now, since Lehi had to go and be all lame on me. (Not for football, just in general.) I'm disappointed in Westlake's student council though. But oh well. Courtney has a blast being the manager, and she has the opportunity to letter this year and the next! Pretty cool. They are going to be playing Timpview this Friday, and I'm super excited to see how that goes. I hope they beat them. That would be just awesome. We have to stay up here in Logan, because BYU is coming to play. :]
School is still going on just like always. We are starting to get the hang of it now, and are having a little more fun. I fixed my work schedule so it's not quite so bad. These are my favorite things about my job:
1-When a small child answers the phone, and says something hilarious. That gets me through at least an hour.
2- How people believe that messing with the people that call them is the best thing ever. Look, that joke did not just make my day. You did not make me laugh. And you still have to complete the survey.
3- The people that rant on and on about not having the time to take the survey, blah blah blah on and on for 8 minutes about not taking a 3 minute survey. Thank you for wasting 5 minutes of your time.
We cook our own meals now, and we are doing a really good job at it. We planned a legit menu and everything. I'm proud of us. :] We can totally handle being married and living together.
Pretty exciting, this summer we might go work up at Bear Lake with Troy's dad. He runs the Scout Camp up there, and we would just camp out all summer and help out. I'm actually excited about it, and think that it is a really good idea. Even if I do have to live in a tent for 3 months. No big deal. :] Free rent, and free food. That will be a big help!
I'm taking a Family Finance class and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm making Troy take it next semester. I hope that I actually take what I am learning and apply it to us, so that we can feel good in 15 years, and not be stressed out financially. We will see. :] I suggest everyone read Automatic Millionaire however, and any other books by David Bach. He will make you rich. Really.

Sept 22 2010

Oh man!

Nothing has happened really, I just felt I should be getting everyone's hopes up for something exciting. :] We don't really do anything, which is a problem! We need pictures for our wedding slideshow, and pictures of us sitting around doing boring things like watching Lost, homework, or working are not going to make for an interesting photo montage!
Anyway, this week has been dragging on. I hate weeks like this. We missed a couple of classes, my bad, had a couple of tests, and worked a bunch of hours. Well, I did. :] But good news, Troy got called from Golden Corral today, so hopefully they will hire him! Then he can work with the lovely April! It sucks, because I feel like we haven't really seen anyone in forever. I hardly even see Parker anymore. :/ It's super lame. But we want to try to plan a get-a-way for the roommates, because we hardly know them. So I'm working on getting that whole thing planned out. Cross your fingers it works out. I am less stress about our financial situation, for the time being. We will see how long that lasts.
I'm excited for this weekend, we get to hang out with Troy's sister. It's funny how much I still want to go home even with Troy up here. Home is just so much less stressful. I love it.
Sleeping at my new apartment (even though it's not really new anymore....) I have realized that now I cannot sleep without the ridiculous animal noises that go on in the "woods" behind mine and Parker's windows. We have the back rooms, and behind the building there are like 7 or 8 trees, but it looks like the woods, because you can't see anything else. Plus, they are infested with all sorts of obnoxious creatures. No joke. There is a squirrel that crawls along the power lines, that I swear crawls over and sits next to my window at seven every morning and makes the most obnoxious high-pitched squeaky noise. But every night you can hear all the crickets, and in the morning different birds and things. It's like my own relaxation sound machine. I am learning to like it. :]
We are still obsessed with Lost. We probably watch 3 episodes every day. We love it. I know, so against everything I wanted to be, but hey, don't judge.
Me and Troy also started a new thing. I thought of this, and am still weary of if it is a good idea or not. Yesterday (Sept. 22) was our 100th day to our wedding. So I created something I called "The 100 Books." We have 100 different questions/stories that we put in a little jar, and every day for the next 100 we will pull one out and write down an answer. Yesterday was our fist day and Troy seems to like it so we will see. Hopefully it has the same in the future value I want it to have. Something kind of cool for us to look back on and see. :]

Sept 20 2010

This weekend I did something pretty cool.

I bought a dress! We went home late Friday night after Parker got off work. We hung out at my house for a while, looked at our engagements and got a whole bunch of wedding stuff figured. Kind of. Ha. Saturday morning we woke up early and headed out to look at bridal shops. Everyone went, my mom, sisters, Parker and Melissa. We started in a little shop in Provo, Sweethearts. It was really cute! I tried on about seven or eight dresses, but was really in love with the first one I tried on. We had an appointment at David's, so we went over there to check out what they had. And weren't we glad. It was kind of like a wanna-be Kleinfeld's, but it was still pretty cool. I walked around and picked out a ton of dresses I thought I might like to try on. I tried on about six here, and then I found it. I love it! It is really pretty, and only the sleeves need to be altered (because it is sleeveless. :/ ) But they will figure that out, and I will be modest. Phew. :] We also managed to find the perfect bridesmaids dresses too, and the girls love them and they go really well with my dress. So we got quite a bit done, I was proud of us!
Later that night we all went to dinner. The Page family and then the Butterfield's. We went to Texas Roadhouse, and it was really fun! The food was good, and it was good to get both families all together finally. Woo! Sunday was pretty low-key, we ate dinner with my family, and then played in the yard. From our front yard we could see two fires, one to the North, and one to the South. We never found out much about the Southern one, but the Northern one worked up quite the reputation. Over in Herriman, a fire had started due to a military practice by Camp Williams. It was really windy, so the fire started quickly and spread even quicker. There were houses burned, and thousands were evacuated. It is really sad, and is still burning. Apparently it was pretty close to Grandma and Grandpa Yager's house, so we will see how it turns out. Hopefully there will not be any more damage to homes. It got us on the Today Show.
Today was Monday and that isn't very fun. But me and Troy got a lot done. We knocked out a bunch of homework, and I have been studying for my first test. We both are liking our classes, and it is good we are not too overwhelmed. I still have my job (Ha) and am still doing great. I won a hat today for getting the first 30 completes. Woo. I don't know what I'm going to do with all these random prizes, I think they should just be giving me money! :]
Right now we are making brownies for Troy's roommates, because last night, they had a little epidemic. They had bought a box of brownies, and turned the oven on. When we got home, we could smell the burn. They believed it was just the oven at first, and once they "fixed" the problem, they popped their pan in. However, about fifteen minutes later when the smell was only getting worse, Quin, went over to check on his precious chocolate desert. Burned. Scorched. Fried. The entire top inch of the pan was completely charred, while the bottom was still not quite cooked. The top coil of the oven was the only one on, and no one could figure out the problem.
About thirty minutes ago, I fixed the problem.
The knob that turned the temperature and such, was a little lose. So when you turned it, to what you thought was 325, it was actually not turning the entire knob, but just the pretty plastic labely part. So, it was on broil. Quin officially broiled his brownies. :]
But now, in an apartment of all boys, who all tried to fix the oven, a girl has emerged. Tightened the knob, and cured the "mysterious" oven problem. That's right, the girl. :]

Sept 15 2010

ONE WHOLE YEAR!

This is my one year post. Exactly one year ago, I started this lovely little thing. And look how different my life is now. Amazing.
This week has not been good, hence, the lack of blog posts.
After my stomach episode of Saturday, I woke up late and almost missed Church but I went. I'm glad I did too, it was really good. There was a little bit of an interesting talk in Sacrament, but overall I'm glad I made it. Even if I didn't have time to shower before hand. :]
Monday, I woke up with an awesome cold. No voice, and oh yeah, I had to work. How might I ask, do you call people all night long and talk to them, with no voice? This was what I asked myself. However, when I called in sick, they said they were desperate for my hours so I had to go in. Luckily I made it through the night, even though the Halls I was sucking gave me a sort of southern-Australian-Deaf accent on the phone. Maybe that is why I got so many surveys. They were trying to figure out where I was from.
I have also jumped on a forbidden bandwagon. I have begun watching Lost. Logan bought all the seasons in this super-nerdy/obsessed set, (no joke, you need to see this thing. It's rivals that of Twilight paraphernalia.) and we have begun watching. I actually like it a lot. We watch two episodes almost every night, so that is fun. It's not confusing yet, so I'm a fan. We will wait to see if I still feel this way.
Oh yeah, we watch Lost on our new GIANT TV .
We felt, that with our bed, we needed some quality entertainment. So, we bought a 55 inch screen TV. No big deal. We won't be able to eat, or have couches, but hey, we have a bed and a TV. Necessities right? :] No, it was only 150, which is a screaming deal, so we jumped on it. It's really nice now, and my justification is that now we don't have to spend the money on an Entertainment center. :]
I didn't do much on Tuesday, worked again, sick again, school again. I like to remember back to the days when me and Troy had fun hanging out. We miss those days. :/
Wednesday, also, the same thing. Super boring. But then something cool happened! We got our engagement pictures back! Well, technically, my house got them because they are at home. But still, in our possession. Almost. They almost were not though.
I asked my parents to try to email us some, so we could at least see some of them. About fifteen minutes later, my mother calls me and asks for Amy's phone number. This, is never a good sign. And it wasn't. Somehow, when they put the disc in our computer to send them to us, the entire disc was reformatted and the pictures were gone. Erased, forever. This is a bump in the road, because those are kind of important. So they had to run to Amy's and get another CD, and now all is good. We will get them all figured out, and then post some of Facebook and things. There are two up, as our profiles right now. So if you just can't wait, then there you go.
Although being sick has not been very fun, there are some positives. A, Troy went and bought me some medicine. B, that medicine makes me sleep soo good. C, I therefore gets lots of good sleep, and sometimes miss a class. :/ But hey, this is college. Your'e supposed to do that right?

Sept 12 2010

So I have missed a couple of days.

But oh well.
This weekend I did quite a few things, and so did Troy. Kind of.
He got fired. Ha. So, now I am the sole breadwinner. It was nothing he did wrong, he just mentioned the company in his blog, and that is a big no no, so he was terminated.
That's okay though. So I had to work all by myself, and that is lame now. I worked a long shift on Friday and then a longer one on Saturday. Friday night we went to dinner at Aggy's, the spin-off of Iggy's in town because I have to write a review on it for the Statesman. It was really fun, Tori and her new boy Matt came and that went good. Parker and Kris were there, and Logan and a date, and Logan's friend. It was good, and the food was really good. I just have to write a review now. :/ Saturday Troy met up with his parents for lunch while I was at work. (Jealous!) But it worked out, because he was kind enough to leave me roses on my seat. :] You know when you fight with Troy, he will always make it better with something like that. It's the only positive of a disagreement. He's so good to me. Ha.
After all that we went to the game and tailgate! (Before the tailgate, I ate a sandwich at their house, and that will come into play later, just don't forget about it.) It was really fun and we kicked Idaho State's butt. I missed football and it was good to watch a game again. :]
After the game we decided Logan needed food so we went back to Troy's place. There, we decided to go to the dance/PoBev (this poetry thing, where you get free beverages. Logan was unhappy with it, so we ended up at the dance) Now, Troy hates that music. All the stuff that they play at those dances. So we only stayed for a little bit, but at least he braved it and went. I was happy with just that. :] (That was where the roses played into earlier.) Notice, I was fine this whole time. Until about twenty minutes later. We left the dance, walked to my house so I could change and then went and to go get Redbox. About halfway there, my stomach starts to hurt. Then when we arrive at Fresh Market, it really really hurts. So bad, I can't stand up. I'm thinking, wow, this is really painful. It continues to hurt and then I realize something. I'm going to throw up. I begin to freak out. I do not throw up. So, I choke it down. Yes, everyone, I forced my body to not throw up. In the course of getting those movies (Fresh Market didn't have what we wanted, so we had to go to Smith's) I probably could have thrown up five or six times. Disgusting. So then we went back to Troy's apartment and I was really dying. By this point I was crying and just very uncomfortable. We came back to my house and watched half of a movie, and then I went to bed. I still feel super ill, but the pain is not as bad.
That sandwich from earlier, the one I told you to remember?
Poisoned me.

Sept 8 2010

I realized a few things today.
I'm almost to an entire year mark of blog posts.
Almost to the 200th post. Wow.
And, tennis shoes are a really awesome invention.
It was raining today, so I put on tennis shoes to walk to school. Remember that big hill that kicks my butt? I kicked it's butt today. :] The tennis shoes on my feet worked miracles, and I was totally confident striding my way up the asphalt. I would like to think it is because I have become amazingly fit in the last week or so, but I think I must give credit to my feet and the joy they were feeling at being cushioned and comforted as they walked up the hill, instead of smacked around by the flip-flops I usually wear.
Another great thing, my story made it in the paper! We had some bumps along the way, but look at this:

It's my first every Professor profile! I interviewed my favorite teacher from last semester, you might remember, Dr. Austin. Me and Tori loved her class, so when I was assigned this, I jumped at the opportunity to interview her. It was much bigger than I thought it would be, so that is cool! I got a GREAT job from my editor, and she told me I was going to be a GREAT asset to the paper. Very excited. :] Hopefully it was not just beginners luck, and I actually have the skills to keep this going. Oh yeah. I get a press badge too. That was like number one reason I took the job. :] It will be like my Lehi sweater all over again, and I can use it however I want. :]
For my other job, I am also doing great things. I am like a professional survey caller. I was the first one to get thirty completes in my shift today. So, I won the cool item below. I finished the night with 60 completes in a 6 hour shift. Pretty impressive. I'm like, really good.

I'm always incredibly busy, but I'm really excited for this weekend. We are going to go eat at a new restaurant in Logan, Aggy's. I have to write a review on it, so a whole lot of us are going. Tori and her new boyfriend are even coming. It should be really good. Also, Saturday is the first home football game! Woo! :]

Sept 7 2010

We just got back from vacation!

We came home for Labor day and had a blast! Friday night we drove down late after I got off work, and hung out with Troy's family for a while. His brother Chad and his family came up for the weekend. Saturday we spent the day with them. We watched Troy get his butt kicked at P90X, played at the park with his nephews and the dogs, and then went to the Dinosaur Museum. It was really fun. :] It's weird to me, because now I'm a insta-aunt. But I'm really excited about it. The boys are super cute. I just need to meet Corbin, Troy's sister's boy. I haven't met them yet. :] Saturday night we took off towards St. George to hang out with my family down at the condo. We had a really good time, we went to Zion's National Park on Sunday and spent the day hiking. We went up to Weeping Rock, and then to the Narrows. It was really fun, we had never been before so we really enjoyed it. :] Monday we hung out at the condo, had a Wii tournament, and went swimming. It was really fun to just be able to hang out and not worry about things for a while. We drove back home late Monday night, and then headed back up to Logan this morning. It was a lot of driving! It was actually really fun though. Troy told me all about his Elementary years, and we got some really funny memories written down. :] It will be fun to have later. Today I bought a Fondue pot! We made a trip to D.I and they had a really cool one for $4! I'm excited to try it out, so stayed tuned for that post. :] It hopefully will be pretty cool. We're going to have to plan a party!

Sept 2 2010

Today was slightly more eventful.

I got another job! Haha, my meeting at the Statesman turned out to be my first meeting, not an interview or a practice. So that is pretty cool. I will get a Press Badge and everything, so I will be as legit as I can get. I'm pretty excited about that. Who else do you know that has a Press Badge? No one. Now, you all do. :] I have two stories already, a Professor Profile and a review of a new restaurant. I'm a little bit nervous about them, my first interview is tomorrow, so we will see how it goes!
We had our very first DESA meeting tonight as well, and all went good. I'm excited about DESA this year, because since we started the new ASL club, our part will be focusing more on the professionalism versus the skills and learning ASL. It will be a really good experience for all of us to get our contacts out there in the real world, and have our names already known when we are going to look for jobs. I'm very excited about that.
My Humanities teacher is weird. Our textbook for the class, no joke, is the Bible. It is a new modern translation of the book that influenced Western civilization. Basically, he tries to not interpret the Bible, and confuses the heck out of all of us in the class. It's going to be difficult to pass I think. I hope that it goes alright though. I really need to get all A's, especially since I'm taking such a small amount of credits! I'm still waiting to hear back from the FCHD department about switching majors, so stayed tuned for news from that.
I'm looking forward to this weekend, we are going to go home. Troy's brother is coming up from Vegas, so we are going to spend Saturday with them, and then go down to St. George for Sunday and Monday with my family. We are excited. School is harder than I remember, and I feel like I never stop doing things. Which is scary, because it is the first week! Ah!
I'm still trying to register for Institute, we are going to try to take another class from Bro. Maughn. I'm excited. :] Troy is taking two Institute classes, the one with me (Latter-day Saint History) as well as a Seminary Teacher prep-type class. It will hopefully be really good for him, and he can get a feel for what Seminary teaching will be like, and see if that is really what he wants to do. It's a good step. :] Things are going well for both of us, so hopefully it continues through the semester, and is not just a beginners luck type of thing. (Even if we aren't really beginners, and it is just the beginning. Oh well.)
Side note, I'm going to be incredibly skinny in a few months. I have to hike all the way to school, plus I feel like I have not stopped running around at all. And, I eat on the go, and it's usually pretty healthy stuff. Plus, here is the kicker, I still haven't had any soda, unlike another weaker individual we all know. :]

Sept 1 2010

Today was a pretty uneventful day.

It was A-Day on the Quad, so I had to head to Campus early, wander around like a fool for an hour, and then sit in the hot sun trying to recruit people to join ASL/DESA club. It was pretty great. Troy kept me company for a while, and brought me lunch. It was good. We got a lot of people to sign up, so hopefully we get a lot of new people coming to the activities. I went to class (even though I debated skipping, and it's only the second day?!?!) It was good. I sat on the VERY front row, so I could sit by Jon and James and see the interpreter. Next time however, I'm getting there earlier, so I can at least be on the second row. First row is way too eager. After that I went back to the Quad, sat in the sun, and then went to work. For 7 whole hours. It was incredibly terrible. I will never work that long again. There is a married couple that trained with me, and so far, the three of us have worked all the same shifts, so we kind of became buddies. It's nice. If Troy ever gets around to joining us, we can double with them every night! :] Only I could make that into something fun.
I also found out something really great! The one and only Tesha Balls works there too! I heard her voice and her name, and it was a great discovery! Yay Tesha! I don't feel quite as pathetic working there anymore, I kind of know what I am doing now. The greatest thing is, I got an interview at USU's Statesman, so now I might have two sources of income. Yay me. :] (If they pay good enough, I might just write and stop the phone calling. But I'm surprisingly good at it...) I also decided today that I was going to change my major. I'm switching to FCHD with a Deaf Ed emphasis. This means that I will get to be the parent-child advocate, for when people find out their children were born deaf. This is much better, because this is what I want to be doing anyway, and no more out of the state awkward twelve week deal! Yay. Plus, I will hopefully (cross your fingers I figured right,) graduate in Fall 2012. That is like so much closer than the other one. Again, yay.

Aug 31 2010

So today was pretty crazy. Tuesdays are pretty crowded. I go to school all day, like all my classes, and then I work from five to ten. But, two great things.

1, my Astronomy teacher is great news. He has an English accent and is super hilarious. Love it.
2, I like dominate this job that wasn't supposed to be that great. I was on the top three for a large majority of my shift. Go me. :]
Also, I got off like a half hour early, so I got to go meet up with my great friends at the movie they were showing on Old Main Hill. Oh yeah, I love college. :] That is really all I did.

Aug 30 2010

Back at school!

We love Logan. :] Let me just take you through this weekend. We moved up here on Tuesday, stayed with Troy's cousin for two days until we could move into our apartments on Thursday. Read Mockinjay, which was really great. :] (Don't worry, this isn't going to be a spoiler.) I really liked it a lot. Probably, my favorite book of the three. Maybe. We moved in on Thursday, and I love my apartment. Me and Parker have the back two bedrooms, and it's really great living with her. We each have our own bathrooms right in our bedrooms. Very nice. We have two other roommates, Dixie and Bonnie. We don't see that much of each other, because we all kinda have crazy schedules. Bonnie already graduated and she works all day. Dixie is a senior, and works. Parker works her nanny job from twelve to six, and I am doing school plus work. School is slow this semester. I'm only taking twelve credits, down from the eighteen I wanted to take. I thought about it, and with this job, plus wedding junk, I think I'm going to need the extra time taking less credits will give me. I have a family finance class mwf, on tues/thurs I have a humanities class (that is proving to be very interesting, our text is the bible....) a astronomy class, and then intro to deaf education. In two of my classes so far, there are interpreters in both. Very distracting. :] But it will be good for me I think. Besides, when the professors use a word I don't understand, I look at them, and see the simplified-signed version, and quickly understand. :] It's like my own pocket dictionary. Minus the nerd factor of actually having to carry a pocket dictionary. :]
Work is not quite a thrill. I sit and stare at a computer screen all day, calling and calling all the hours of the day. I did pretty good for my first day, I passed. So hopefully I will be getting paid around nine or ten dollars an hour. That would be a real big help. :] Other than that, nothing is really going on yet. Just trying to get back into the groove of things, and figure out how to survive this Logan weather. Went to class dry, came out of class, it was pouring. Guess who walked home soaked to the bone in a tee shirt and flip flops? Oh yeah, yours truly. I rocked that look.

Aug 20 2010

In a couple of days I will be able to make my posts a lot more continuous. I know you are all just thrilled to pieces about that. :] Quick update on what you have missed in the last ten days.

I'm done at Smart Cookie! Forever! It's weird, but it is time to move on.
I got a new hair do. Life change, hair change. :]
We have still been trying to accomplish more and more things on our list. We did pretty good however. We hiked Ensign Peak just the other day and that was really fun. Then we ate at Five Guys. :] Completely undoing everything our hike did for us. Oh well.
A few Fridays ago, we met up with Kyle and Cortney (Troy's brother and his girlfriend) at the Cheesecake Factory ate dinner, then headed to Boondocks. It was a ton of fun! I had never been before, so I was opened up to a whole new world of entertainment! :] We raced Go-Karts, and played Laser Tag and Arcade games. I totally kicked Kyle's butt in our last go around of Kart races, and I was very proud of myself. :]
We have been doing our best to get a good chunk of wedding junk out of the way before we go to school, and I'm proud of our efforts.
We are dying to go up to school. We have had a good summer, working our butts off and squeezing in fun times, but we are ready to go to Logan. We only have a couple of days, and neither of us are packed, but hey, it will all come together the night before. :]
I'm very much looking forward to this next semester of school. Not only am I starting a new semester in a new place, but I am not doing it alone. It will be so nice to have Troy just up the road, and not have to drive home every weekend. It's going to be a time full of adventures, I can feel it. I'm hoping to not neglect the blog, and I promise to do my best to update whoever all of you are on what I am getting myself into. I'm sure the insight I will have on this whole engagement thing will be great, so stay tuned. Life has taken me in a direction I never could have imagined for myself, and I'm happy it has. I'm very lucky, and am so looking forward to what comes next. Moving on like I am has taught me so much about what I used to think I knew. I was (still am actually) a clueless pawn in this game of life. There are so many people who I wish were a part of my life now, and many I am glad are not. We are all working towards better lives for ourselves, and it is so fascinating to me where everyone will end up. Wherever I happen to land, I hope they have Dr. Pepper. Because we are doing the no soda thing again, and I'm dying for one. :/

Aug 10 2010

Happy Birthday to Becky! :]

I know, this is the post you have all been waiting for. The (dun-dun-dun) proposal post! I am now going to tell you how Troy proposed and all that beautiful information. (For my records as well. :] )
Last Wednesday we were going to head up to Logan because Troy had SOAR on Thursday so we were going to spend the night there. I wasn't supposed to work at all both days, so it was going to be smooth sailing. However, the baker at AF was in a car accident, so I had to cover the baker in FU shift while she covered in AF. It turned out to be a long day at both stores. I finished at about four, but needed to go to AF to help her finish a HUGE order. I informed Troy and Parker of this, and they were both really upset, and wanted me to hurry. I was trying, but I didn't really see the big deal in me being a couple of hours late (now I do) but I still hurried as fast as I could. Once I finished we headed straight up, got something quick to eat, and then drove to Logan. We arrived at Parker's, and since I had come straight from nasty-sticky work, I showered and got dressed. I was looking forward to a night of chilling on the couch, watching a movie or something like we normally do, because I was beat. That is not what they had planned. As soon as Parker asked if I was ready for our bonfire, I kind of knew something was up. Parker and Troy don't plan. Let alone together. So, I was very suspicious and didn't quite know how to react. I was pleased, because it meant I didn't have to do very much thinking after my long day, but I knew something weird was going on. But I reluctantly went along with them. We got up the canyon, after a few disagreements on directions between Parker and Kris, and I was getting a little scared. It was dark, and super creepy. Plus, I was not told about this plan so I was in flip-flops and capri pants. Instant bug attraction. Not to mention, I had just showered so I was smelling particularly nice. Needless to say, I was a little bit of a pain to deal with as we sat around the fire. I had forgotten all about the suspicious activities of my dear loved ones, and was now worried about the suspicious nature-noises I was hearing, and what was crawling in between my toes. After sitting around the fire for a while, watching Kris blow his nose into his hand, Parker burn marshmallows, and the two of them fight like always (:]) They disappeared, and left me and Troy by ourselves. At first, this freaked me out. Suddenly there was only two of us, and I couldn't see behind us and neither could he. Plus, I had this fear that Parker and Kris were hiding somewhere and were going to jump out and make me scream. This was all going on while I was laying against Troy fighting off the urge to fall asleep, because let's remember folks, I had just worked a very full day on very little sleep. Next thing I know, Troy is in front of me kneeling on the ground. He was proposing and I was almost asleep. It was so fitting. :] I of course woke up very quickly, and said yes to what he was asking. (Which was, Will you marry me?) It was all great. :] I remember him telling me I had to look at the ring before I answered, which seemed very stupid to me. But I did, and I love it. :] It was too big though (that was how Troy told me he thinks I have fat hands. ;] ) and we are in the process of getting it shrunk down to my size, and I will get it back in a couple of days. :]
That is our story. Here are the details: Troy proposed to me on his one year anniversary of being home from his Mission; August 4, 2010. It wasn't completely a surprise, but I didn't know exactly what was going on. :] He picked out the ring all by himself, and I love it. :] He got me a seven, but I need a six. It has a Cathedral set diamond (I think that is what he called it...) in the middle, with v-looking engravings followed by three small round diamonds on both sides of the bands. I have already almost lost it twice, and that scares the crap out of me. I refuse to ever know how much he spent on it. He got it at JP Lee. It came in a green velvet box. I think that will answer all of the questions, and give me enough to remember when I lose everything I'm supposed to remember when I'm old. :]

Jul 26 2010

((WARNING: obviously, I didn't get this post up on the real July 26th, but hey, whatevever. It was supposed to have pictures, but I never got around to it. They are all on facebook.))
Recently, I have done quite a many things. I have gotten more time to do fun summer things with everyone, because I quit as a baker so now I get one even two days off a week. It has been really good. I'm going to be sad when, although I hate the job most of the time, the money income is gone. :/ Finding a job in Logan is proving to be more difficult, and I'm nervous about it. I hope it all works out though. I'm thinking it will!
I have to write about this, because it was a big moment in my life. Yesterday after Church we went to the Butterfield's for our usual hanging out/eating something before Craig goes back up to camp. Craig was in command of cooking, and he made two pizzas. On one, there were scallops, clams, cheese, spinach and other herbs/seasonings. It was so good! I was so impressed with his skills. Plus, I got to eat a scallop. It was awesome. The clams, were legit clams, in the shell and all. It was one of the highlights of my month.
Saturday for the 24th, me and Troy both had work off. So we decided we were going to go hiking and to the Bee's game. Parker and Kris came down too, so they joined us on our hike. It was a lot harder than we expected it to be. For me and Parker anyway. Haha we struggled, and I think the boys were getting very sick of us complaining. But we made it all the way to the top! Even if we did take a couple more breaks than necessary. :] It was so fun, and so pretty though. We packed sandwiches, and hiked up to Lake Mary by Brighton. We were going to go to Donut Falls, but there was a fire warning so we had to change plans. But it all worked out great, and we had a blast! That is what all these pictures are of. :]
Saturday night we also went to the Bee's game, because I had never been, and it was on our list of things to do this summer. (We have actually started to make a good dent in that lately. :] ) It was really fun! It was hot for the first couple of innings, but then it cooled down and wasn't so bad. We had an adventure/second hike trying to find Troy some ice cream, but we found it and he was happy. :] After the game they had a firework show, so we brought our blanket down on the field, right behind third base and watched the show. It was a lot of fun. I hate baseball less and less each day.
Summer is starting to wind down for us now, we are going on a family reunion this week so we are excited for the days off. Troy quit Hadco, so he is back at the farm with Luke and likes it a lot better. Which I am glad for. We are just trying to get ready for school, find jobs, and still have a little bit of fun while we still can. :]
We started our very first family nights tonight. So old. So responsible.

Jul 8 2010

I figure I have done enough lately to update a post. :]
The rodeo came to town! So we all got to go and it was a blast!!

The Fourth of July (rather, the third) went very well. We did our usual activities, and I was only a little bit delayed from work, which made me very happy. We had lunch at Carol's and hung out for a little while, then headed to Sandy for the parade, carnival, and firework show. This year, Troy came too. Kris and Parker also drove down from Logan to get in on some of the festivities. It was really fun, and there are pictures from the day posted below.

The greatest thing about that holiday weekend however, was what I did on Monday! Because Troy had the day off, he took me to work, killed a couple of hours, picked me up and then.....we went to the ZOO!!! Yes everyone, I finally got to go to the zoo. :] I was so excited all day long. I must admit, although I have always had a fantastic time at the zoo, this time was my favorite. :] Maybe it was because Troy came, but that really isn't provable. ;] But we had a really good time seeing all the animals, and being able to enjoy the day off. It was a good time. That event is going to sustain my need for excitement for at least the next week, so all is good.

Jun 25 2010

So, nothing has really happened that anyone else would care about, but I did do something kind of cool.

I officially completed my first EXTREMELY large Smart Cookie order! We had an order for Discover Card, and it was 1,400 stars. It was a very long long process. Luckily I had the help of another baker, but it still took us about 12 hours to complete overall. A lot of dough, frosting, and hand-cramps later, we finished. They looked really good, and I was glad that it was over! The worst part for me was when they were all loaded into the car, watching them drive away, and imagining a really horrible car accident occurring a few feet from the store. That didn't happen though, and as far as I know, the cookies made it safely there. :]
It has been a long couple of weeks! I am no longer going to be full time baking, I'm not cut out for it. :] So I am struggling to get through my last couple of weeks before I go back to just running the counter. I will be closing more, so that kind of sucks, but oh well. It's a job, money, and something to keep me busy. Melissa also comes home from Africa on Saturday! I will finally have a friend close to me! (Besides Troy, who I love, but I am in need of a girlfriend close by.) We are going to the Lehi Rodeo on Saturday and I couldn't be more excited!
My newest project is to get Tika, Troy's dog, back into shape. :] I feel so bad for her, because she just gets trapped inside all day long. Slowly but surely (and when we have time) I'm making Troy take her on walks with me, and to the park. We will see how this all goes. :]
I need to mention this, because it is a HUGE DEAL.
On Saturday June 26, 2010 Dari is turning 50! Dari, happens to be the oldest African Elephant in North America, and she calls the Hogle Zoo home. They are having a large cake/celebration, but because of my lame job I don't get to go. I just thought that everyone should know, because hello, that's like the coolest thing ever. I do read the zoo blog for the baby elephant. I know, it's weird. But if I can't see her in person, I might as well be able to keep up with her via internet!! Don't judge my actions.
