Today was a pretty uneventful day.
It was A-Day on the Quad, so I had to head to Campus early, wander around like a fool for an hour, and then sit in the hot sun trying to recruit people to join ASL/DESA club. It was pretty great. Troy kept me company for a while, and brought me lunch. It was good. We got a lot of people to sign up, so hopefully we get a lot of new people coming to the activities. I went to class (even though I debated skipping, and it's only the second day?!?!) It was good. I sat on the VERY front row, so I could sit by Jon and James and see the interpreter. Next time however, I'm getting there earlier, so I can at least be on the second row. First row is way too eager. After that I went back to the Quad, sat in the sun, and then went to work. For 7 whole hours. It was incredibly terrible. I will never work that long again. There is a married couple that trained with me, and so far, the three of us have worked all the same shifts, so we kind of became buddies. It's nice. If Troy ever gets around to joining us, we can double with them every night! :] Only I could make that into something fun.
I also found out something really great! The one and only Tesha Balls works there too! I heard her voice and her name, and it was a great discovery! Yay Tesha! I don't feel quite as pathetic working there anymore, I kind of know what I am doing now. The greatest thing is, I got an interview at USU's Statesman, so now I might have two sources of income. Yay me. :] (If they pay good enough, I might just write and stop the phone calling. But I'm surprisingly good at it...) I also decided today that I was going to change my major. I'm switching to FCHD with a Deaf Ed emphasis. This means that I will get to be the parent-child advocate, for when people find out their children were born deaf. This is much better, because this is what I want to be doing anyway, and no more out of the state awkward twelve week deal! Yay. Plus, I will hopefully (cross your fingers I figured right,) graduate in Fall 2012. That is like so much closer than the other one. Again, yay.
